They did it again. The Tigers have made it to the 4A State Championship for the second year in a row. The Tigers earned their fifth trip to the state championship on the day after Thanksgiving, with a 49-14 victory over the University School of Fort Lauderdale. The Tigers have completely dominated in the playoffs by earning a big enough lead to go into a running clock in all three of their playoff games.

Just like last week, it took the Tigers a little bit of time to find a way into the end zone. Their offensive possession lasted eight minutes. Willie Gaines was able to score the first touchdown of the night with a two yard run. With 26 seconds remaining in the first quarter Alex Petruzzello made a 34 yard field goal. At the end of the first quarter the score was 10-0 Tigers on top.

The Tigers increased their lead in the second quarter with a 17 yard touchdown pass from Bradley Cantrell to Rashean Lynn. Five minutes later, it was like déjà vu with Bradley Cantrell finding Rashean Lynn once again for a 31 yard touchdown! The Sharks were able to score late in the second quarter with a 63 yard pass from George Bubrick to Jordan Irizarry. With three seconds remaining in the first half Alex Petruzzello nailed a 23 yard field goal. At the end of the first half the Tigers were on top 27-7.

The second half begun with the Sharks on offense. The Tigers shut the Sharks down and forced them to punt.

Bradley Cantrell showed us he is a mobile quarterback with a 14 yard rushing touchdown, this was his second rushing touchdown of the season.

Willie Gaines scored his second touchdown of the night by dashing for a 26 yard rushing touchdown. At the end of the third quarter the Tigers remained on top 42-7.

The Sharks scored for the second and last time of the night with a one yard pass from George Bubrick to Joseph Sanguinetti. The Tigers scored their final touchdown of the night with Jacquez Glasco rushing for a 12 yard touchdown. This was the sophomore running back’s third consecutive week with a touchdown.Freshman backup kicker, Nicholas King, was given the opportunity to kick an extra point following the rushing touchdown by Jacquez Glasco and he nailed it. Alex Petruzzello was phenomenal tonight by making two field goals and four extra points. The final score was 49-14. Tigers are going back to the State Championship!

The Tigers will face Jacksonville Raines in the Class 4A Championship on December 7th at Camping World Stadium. Last year Cocoa defeated Jacksonville Bolles 31-17. The Tigers have had a goal ever since winning the title last year and that is to do go back to back. December 7th will be a historic day for the Tigers as they travel to Camping World Stadium for the second year in a row looking to defend their State Championship.

The Tiger Times Productions Player of The Game is Bradley Cantrell. Bradley had a incredible game. Not only did he pass for 84 yards and two touchdowns but he ran for 104 yards and one touchdown. Cantrell was unstoppable against the Sharks.
