The saying is “work hard, play harder”.  Our Tiger athletes will be working hard this week and next week they will be playing, not too hard, during Spring Break. Here is the sports report for March 25th to March 30th.

The Varsity Softball team currently has a record of 7-7 and this week they will have four opportunities to improve their record. Monday, March 26th, they will be taking on the Palm Bay Pirates at home. The next day, Tuesday, March 27th, they will compete against the Titusville Terriers at home. After they face the Titusville Terriers at home they will travel to Astronaut High School on Wednesday March 28th. Their final game of the week will be on Thursday, March 29th, at home. Each game will begin at around 6 PM.

The Varsity Baseball team currently has a record of 2-11. This week they only have one game and it is on Thursday, March 29th, at home and should start at about 6PM.  They will be having a pre-game ceremony beginning at 5 PM to celebrate the Life and Legacy of Devin Holloway. Devin spent four years playing baseball for the Tigers. In 2014 he was diagnosed with Brain Cancer and passed away in 2016. Make sure to wear a Cocoa Tigers, Philadelphia Eagles, or Florida Gators Jersey to honor Devin.

The Varsity Boys & Girls Track team will compete in the Cape Coast Conference meet on Wednesday, March 28th. This event will take place during the entire school day. Junior Jamari Williams looks to win the high jump for the second year in a row and Sophomore Caziah Holmes hopes to become the back to back champion in both the 100 and 200 meters.

The Varsity Boys & Girls Tennis team will have playoff matches on Tuesday, March 27th, and they will be missing the entire day of school.

Cheerleading tryouts are being held from Monday, March 26th to Wednesday, March 28th. If you want to shine under the Friday Night Lights make sure you go try out!

We will be posting results from the events on our Facebook “@CocoaTigerTimes” and Twitter “@CNNTigers”, so make sure you go leave a like and follow.
