A farewell was sent to the senior cheerleaders at the barbeque bowl, where cocoa unfortunately lost against the raiders. The cheerleaders, however, saved the game with their routine chants and amazing stunts.

Latoria Brown, a senior cheerleader at cocoa high had said “Cheer is definitely an adventure,” when asked about her feelings towards the last few years of her career. “Nobody knows how hard we work to make sure our football players and the rest of the tiger family are happy.”

Latoria, like most of the team, has spent the majority of her time at Cocoa High as a cheerleader, and was honored last night for her loyalty on the team. She is excited to attend the University of Forida, majoring in health sciences and technology.

“Senior night was fun, it’s nice to know i’ll have the same feeling as they do next year,” says junior cheerleader, Akilah Davis, as she chanted alongside both her upperclassmen and lower-classmen teammates on the field. “I can’t wait to cheer at state with them again.”

For some, senior night was their last night as a Cocoa Tiger cheerleader, as they say farewell to both the team and their uniform. One of these being Jade Beninger, who has spent time cheering on and off the Cocoa High field. “I’ll miss cheering, of course,” she says. “But I had a lot of fun doing it and I look forward to what this open space of time brings me. Now I want to go to college to become a writer.”

It is clear these seniors are leaving both the field and the campus with tons of tiger pride, demonstrating it through their grades and ambitions. As we say farewell to them this spring, remember how much spirit they gave to not only the football and basketball teams, but us students, teachers, staff, and alumni.
