In the 19th century school started in October and ended in April. Cocoa High School was built in 1917. It was a 2 story building on Willard street. It contained grades 7-12. 7 years later, a new building was built. In 1952, Cocoa High School opened its new school building. In 1959, 7th and 8th grade were moved to Clearlake. In 1970, They rebuilt the school on Rosetine Street ( Tiger Trail) This new school had 18 separate buildings and housed grades 9-12. In 2010, Cocoa High’s football team played three out of state games in an effort to be nationally ranked. In September 2010, Cocoa High’s football team ranked 12th in the nation. It also set a county record for most consecutive football victories (31 in a row) Threw the years, Cocoa High has offered some activities for the students of Cocoa. Here is a list of just a few. SGA, Robotics, National Honor Society, Drama Club, Yearbook, JROTC, Orchestra, Health and Wellness, I Tigers, and Chorus. In 2007, the school scored a “D” based on standardized testing for the year, the lowest score in the district. In 2010, this score was raised to an “A” Cocoa High is 1 out of 5 in Brevard to have an A.
